Arent Fox Partner Michael Cryan Selected for Fordham University School of Law 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Award
NEW YORK – Arent Fox LLP is proud to announce that partner Michael S. Cryan has been selected for the Fordham University School of Law 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Award. Michael will receive the award in New York City on Monday, April 16 during a gala dinner hosted by Fordham. This award reflects the acknowledgement of Michael’s dedication and involvement in the Fordham Moot Court and the Fordham Alumni Program.
Michael was a member of the Fordham Moot Court Board from 1993 to 1995. As a third year student, Michael was selected to represent Fordham Law School and the Moot Court Board in the New York City Bar Association Annual National Moot Court Competition. Along with teammates James Bliss and Edward Hassi, Michael won the 45th Annual National Moot Court Competition.
He has remained an indispensable member of the Fordham Moot Court community even after graduation. He has played an integral role in the selection of new members to the Moot Court Board through his participation in the William Hughes Mulligan and I. Maurice Wormser Moot Court Competitions. He has also consistently and generously volunteered his time to prepare Fordham Moot Court teams for competition. Drawing on his experience as a National Moot Court Champion and a successful litigator at Arent Fox, he challenges competitors with insightful questions to hone their oral advocacy skills.
The Fordham Moot Court Distinguished Alumnus Award is given each year to an alumnus who demonstrates commitment to the Fordham Moot Court Board and has made a lasting impact on the program. Nominations are taken from individuals on the Board and a recipient is selected by the Faculty Advisor and Executive Board.
“Michael is one of our firm’s leading commercial litigators and we commend him on receiving this prestigious award,” said Arent Fox Chairman Mark Katz.
“We are very pleased with this great accomplishment,” said Michael Blass, the managing partner of the firm’s New York office. “Michael joined our firm’s New York office directly after his graduation from Fordham University School of Law. He remains a key member of our commercial litigation practice, with significant experience in complex commercial, insurance and reinsurance, bankruptcy and financial restructuring, health care, and intellectual property matters.”
Congratulations to Michael for receiving this prestigious award.
