Daily Journal Names Arent Fox Partner Kelli Scheid Smith to 2020 ‘Top Women Lawyers’
Kelli advises companies across a variety of industries, including sports, hospitality, and fashion, and retail. In recognizing her achievements, Daily Journal noted her work with Goldman Sachs, Diesel, Lacoste, various NBA teams, event management company ASM Global, and restaurant company ThinkFoodGroup. Kelli has a broad transactional practice and also dedicates time for pro bono work.
“I’ve been fortunate to work closely with Kelli for over 10 years, and she is a rising star in her field, so it is no surprise that the Daily Journal would recognize her among the top women lawyers in California. Her diverse practice demonstrates Kelli's capabilities and deep understanding of her clients’ challenges, which helps her consistently deliver successful outcomes.”
– Richard L. Brand, San Francisco Managing Partner
Since Kelli represents companies in some of the industries hit hardest by the pandemic, she has worked with her clients on adjustments to weather the uncertainty. “We’re having to be nimble and creative with solutions while planning for life post-COVID,” Kelli said to the Daily Journal.
Pro Bono Efforts
The Daily Journal reported that Kelli took moving from Arent Fox’s Washington, DC office as an opportunity to formalize the San Francisco office’s pro bono work, as exhibited by her vice-chairing the Arent Fox Pro Bono Committee. Kelli told the Daily Journal that her work for Coqual Inc. in particular has become timely as issues of diversity and inclusivity are in the national spotlight.
