San Bruno Reels from Councilman's Veto of Huge Housing Project

Land Use Counsel Tim Tosta was recently quoted in the San Francisco Business Journal article, “San Bruno reels from councilman's veto of huge housing project,” published on July 11, 2019.

Following San Bruno’s City Council’s rejection of the 425-unit Mills Park Plaza project slated for downtown, leaving the city behind in its housing goals, Tim was asked where the responsibility lies in making sure that these projects become approved. According to Tim, it’s ultimately up to the developer to convince council members and the public to support new housing. He added that, if a developer senses an impending “no” vote, it should use every tool in the box to change it before a hearing.
