Karen M. Ancharski
Karen’s practice involves representing clients ranging from privately held companies to publicly traded corporations. She regularly counsels purchasers, sellers, developers, and managers on purchase and sale transactions, joint venture transactions, and acquisition financing, construction financing, and loan modification transactions.
Karen works extensively with clients in the senior living space on real estate-related matters, including acquisitions of existing senior living facilities and raw land for the development of new senior living facilities and negotiations of property management agreements.
Recent representations include: representing an investment bank in the formation of a joint venture and subsequent development by the joint venture of senior living facilities throughout the eastern United States, representing an asset management and construction company in the purchase of several pad sites located in Virginia and Maryland, and representing a private equity fund in the negotiation of management agreements with several different senior living operators located throughout the United States.
Before attending law school, Karen worked as an editorial assistant at Princeton University Press, an academic book publishing company located in Princeton, New Jersey.
Life Beyond the Law
Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons exploring Washington, DC’s playgrounds, museums, and kid-friendly restaurants.
