The annual event is presented by the Washington, DC Section of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), IFT Food Laws & Regulations Division, and American Society for Nutrition. It provides an opportunity for industry professionals to hear from and network with leading attorneys, industry leaders, and officials from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), US Department of Agriculture (USDA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH), in order to stay current and compliant on the latest developments in food laws, regulations, and policy initiatives.
Karen and Emily will present on the second day of the event. Karen’s session will cover state labeling issues and federal preemption and Emily will speak about developing new standards of identity.
