Apple Engineer Takes a Page From Colleagues Textbook and Is Accused Of Stealing Self-Driving Car IP

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

An Apple engineer was arrested on the eve of a trip to China and charged in California federal court with stealing company secrets related to self-driving car technology, court records show, marking the second Apple engineer accused of stealing its autonomous car technology in recent months. Apple hardware engineer Jizhong Chen copied computer files and took unauthorized photographs in violation of federal laws against theft of trade secrets and a confidentiality agreement he signed with the tech giant, according to a Jan. 22 criminal complaint unsealed this week.
